I was looking throught the stocking charts and found that Sand Lake was stocked with lake trout in 1999 and 2001. Has anyone ever caught one of these fish? Are they still around. They would probably be quite big if some of them were still swimming around.

Donno about Sand Lake, but I caught a tagged Laker in the Tangle Lakes that was about 16 inches long. I took the tag and released the trout.
I sent the tag in to F+G.
F+G kindly mailed and informed me that my trout was stocked in 1988 and was recaptured in a survey in 1996. It had grown about 1 1/2 inches by the time I caught and released it six years later--2002. The fish was 14 years old and 16 inches.
Sand Lake probably has a longer growing season than the Tangles, but Alaskan Lakers can be slow growers and live long lives.
If they were stocked as brood stock, they might be bruisers...

if they keep stocking 6 inch landlocks they could be bruisers... Same deal with clunie lake stocked with lakers. The lakers can spawn in the lakes so the populations could increase
