This craigslist guy is a genius, capture a few pigeons off the street in anchorage and sell them for 25$... might bite him in the *** when the owner of a 25$ pigoen comes to complain that the bird never "homed" and finds it sitting in the cage awaiting re-sale!!!

I think real homing pigeons were the only thing to use before cell service if you didn't want the pony express guy reading about your secret hunting spots!

I used to work with a guy in Kasilof who raised homing pigeons.
He sent them all over the state to be released and then timed them coming home.
The young chicks were sent off to a race to be acclimated or whatever its called. And raised up to flying age.
Then all the birds for a race were released with legbands so you knew who's bird's got there first.
I couldn't tell you what there worth but registered birds might be worth his asking price.
Buy a mating pair and the young will return to wherever you raised them.
