Aluminum shafts anyone????

I still shoot aluminum shafts. I blast right through moose regularly with them. Pass through shots almost every time. I have taken 22 bulls with my bow. Some deer and bears also. Still using old school Satellite Aero broadheads with razor inserts. I have a bunch of them. Another little secret I'll share here is that I spray my shafts with silicone before hunting. It slicks them right up. I discovered this by accident when target shooting years ago. Twice the penetration on my bag of shrink wrap I shoot into.
When helping with my brother's estate a while back, I stumbled on another hoard of aluminum arrows. I'll never be able to shoot them all up in my remaining lifetime. Now to convince my son and grandson to switch from carbon shafts.
I'll stand by to hear from the haters. Got my flame suit on.

I switched to carbon years ago. Aluminum is either straight or bent. Carbon is busted or straight.

What works for you and makes you happy is what you should use. I love Carbon Express. A buddy likes Gold Tip. They both work. Much depends on your setup too.

I used those old Aero Satellites many years ago. Can't tell you how many different broadheads I've tried in the past 60 years. I have settled on NAP Hellraisers as my go-to one piece broadhead. Moose, blue wildebeest, zebra, waterbuck, moose, bears, gemsbuk, deer, warthog... They have never failed me once.

I was just checking to see what others thought. I'll be hanging onto these. Think I'll buy a fletching tool.

I would! I fletch all mine. One thing that I have found out with plastic vanes is to clean with the highest % alcohol and I only use Gorilla Glue high impact glue(blue top?). Beats any fletching cement I have ever used.

I found some clamps but not the stands?? And none of the clamps were straight. Sorry I couldnt help

BTW, I thought I was the only one using straight fletch? Do you also shoot heavy shafts?

I have used a variety of shafts over the years, but mostly 2216, 2117 type. Recently I have been using larger diameter with a thinner wall.

I always really liked my alum arrows,saw no reason to buy the next big thing.sprayed mine with silicone also.
I still have a stash and if I get back into bow hunting I'll bring them in.
