A medium bore for Christmas

I'm getting ready to order the scope for my new CZ 550 .375 h&h and I'm no longer sure what to order. I was originally going to go with the Leupold VX -3hd 1.5-5, but after looking at the ballistics of the.375 h&h maybe the 2.5-8 would better take advantage of it's potential. I will be primarily hunting bear with it. Maybe one day elk or moose in the timber. Most of my shots would probably be between 50+200 yards but the occasional 300 ish does pop up once in a while. what do you think?

Sounds like a good choice. 3x9s are sometimes cheaper. I always use Leupold on my guns.

I have a Winchester Model 70 Super Express in 375H&H I purchased used a few years ago and it has a Leupold 2x7 VXII scope which seems to suit it although I do not like that the eye relief drops off noticeably going up in power.
I think the rifle is from the late 80's or 90's as it has a G prefix and Ser# is 16#####. I always wanted a 375 but doubt I'll ever hunt with it as it is just too nice to get scratched up.
