Sorry the pics are so big...still workin' on getting the pic posting thing down :)

Not too good on 'guestimations' yet. If you weight them, what did they weight?
Can't wait to get my turn at Kings. Be flying into Anchorage in EIGHT WEEKS...... (but whose counting)... to spend 10 days!!!

Very nice!!! Those look more like fish originating in Cook Inlet. Was there any roe or milt in the fish?

Congratulations! Looks like some nice halibut as well!

Click RIGHT HERE to go to a really neat calculator for salmon weights based on length and girth. We've checked it out on a range of fish, and it usually comes within a few ounces of right, compared to a certified scale.

Be aware though, that girth has a huge influence on results, and you need it along with length to get anywhere. For example, we had a 51" king that weighed and even 50#, and a 49" king that weighed 55# 9 oz on certified scales. The calculator was 3 ounces long IIRC on the 51-incher, but nailed the 49" fish.

Not everyone in the state has access to fast connections. On my dialup a 200k pic takes 3-5 minutes to load. A 1m pic is up there in the 10-15 minute range. Videos are as hopeless as finding a spin-free politician. Post em as big as you like, but with the loss of folks who won't even try to open them.

We didn't weigh them...my husband has the measurements written down somewhere, so I can't calculate them right now...
However, our boat captain said he guessed around 40-45 lbs.
You should have a great time when you get here...it's been gorgeous here so far this summer! :)

Yes, these were Cook Inlet Kings...we launched out of Deep Creek.
Ours were both females, with nice batches of eggs...the other King caught on our boat was a male.

Thanks for the heads up BB. I'll keep that in mind when I post.

Fishin girl, you can post smaller pics by using the 'manage attachments' option in the 'go advanced' menu.
I think that would make them easier to load for slower connections, but I'm not sure.

Well, back on topic, way to go akfishin' girl! and BB, if you can't see the pics, they are of a young couple behind some nice salmon and a super funny one of akfishgirl layin' a wet sloppy kiss on a nice female king. classic.
