has anyone ever tried this? Do you think it could duplicate 358 STA ballistics for significantly less recoil???

The 358 STA is nothing more than the 375H&H/8mm RemMag necked to 358 Caliber. Won't be much less recoil as the powder capacity will be comparable.

It really isn't possible to duplicate ballistics and feel any difference in recoil.
But, you cannot duplicate 358 STA ballistics in the H&H case (in it's standard taper and capacity) The H&H case is however the mother of the STA case, just blown out and necked down. Good shootin'.
