Well, I toyed around with the idea of selling the sled. Didn't try real hard. So I have started getting it ready for riding. I felt the springs were a little weak for me last year so I picked up a set from Polaris. They told me to go one size bigger. I installed them but they still don't seem to be quite stiff enough. Does anyone have a rule of thumb on what size spring I should go to? This is a '05 RMK 900. I weigh about 240 without gear. I figure around 275 with gear and gas on the back. I do have the adjuster blocks spun to the stiffer setting.
Also, I spoke to Polaris about adding an electric start kit to it. They said that the 900 goes through batteries fairly quickly and they don't really like to put these on. Is there that much difference in the compression on a 900 versus a 700? Exactly what type of battery would be in this setup? I wouldn't have a problem putting it on a trickle charger after riding.
Any Polaris experts out there? Eric
