It's February already and word on the street has it that a member has already taken a bison, so it must be time to start our new gallery!

Same guidelines as usual:

Photos and short hunt descriptions only. - Please, if you want to congratulate a hunter or ask questions, do so in a separate thread or via the PM system.

Alaskan hunts only - Please feel free to share your photos from other states/countries in the Out and About forum.

2014 hunts only

This is one of my favorite features of the site, as I love seeing the collection build throughout the year and the transition from one set of species to another. Our late winter moose, caribou, bison and musk ox...leading to the spring bear...and then into sheep and caribou...and back to moose, goat, bears, and more. Let's get this new collection started!

Took 20 years of applying before I drew the DI403 tag, but I finally got my bull. The meat is delicious!

My buddy and Larry and me. Transporter for the hunt was James Whitman. Highly recommend James for anybody heading after ox on Nunivak.

Here is a video my buddy put together of my 2014 Kenai Brown Bear. The hunt was a blast and went perfectly. We got a lot of videos of a particular bear we wanted and after about 17 total hours in the stand over a few trips we finally connected with him.

DSC02676.jpg I got lucky on day 9 nine with my first Grizzly. My dad was right next to me which made it very cool.

We need details on the bear bowtech907.
We found the bear sleeping in the alders. As we approached my only shot was pushing the wind in order to get a shot. As I approached I felt the wind hit the back of my neck and knew the gig was up. Almost instantly the bear picked his head up and looked at me with a not so impressed look on his face. As I came to full draw we had a stare down for a number of seconds with the bear on his feet quartering to. With no clear shot I held at full draw waiting for an opportunity, then it came... The bear bluffed charged closer to 30yds and as it whirled I touched it off. He was not happy and snarled and tore through the alders. We gave him some time and came back he was laying dead in the river 1 yd from where he was initially shot. Then it was high fives, photos, and the knives. Cool experience. F+G said the skull was 22 5/8
