2014 Fur Prices

I fear the conflict in Ukraine will deal a huge blow to the fur industry with Russia being a main player/buyer - Relations with China and US are not getting better either. Pull those to players out of the market and it could be a long dry spell in the fur industry....

I would not be surprised to see a repeat of the 80's when the bottom fell out of the fur market. The prices got higher and higher then next thing you know you could not give the fur away. Lots of people quit trapping then including myself. I started back to trapping in 2006 after I retired from my regular job. I love the challenge of trapping and being outdoors and now that I am retired I don't have to depend on the fur prices to pay my bills.
