07 Rincon steering alignment?

Just bought on 07 rincon.....after putting about 20 hours on her, I was checking out the tire wear pattern... By looking at the front wheels the "toe" was obviously out on both wheels....Anybody know why Honda would do this?

Probably rebound steering. As the tires go up, they toe in.

Some machines steer better with the alignment toed out. I have heard this several times when talking about the new KQ's.

If you are experiencing odd tire wear I would check your tire pressure first. It could be your alignment, if it is that is really easy to adjust. Jack the front end of your machine off the ground, loosen the nuts on the tie rods, and twist the tie rod out. This will push the front of the tires in. Tighten the nuts on each tire rod and your good to go.

Toe out

Toe out is better than toe in. If the tires are toe in, the machine will have a tendency to "dart" from side to side. A slight toe out stabilizes the machine. Too much though will wear the tires really fast since they are constantly "skidding" even while running straight.

With the tires and handlebars straight ahead, measure between the rims on the forward side, then measure between them on the rear side. There should only be between 3/16" and 0" difference (less) on the rear side. Just adjust the tie rods equally to compensate for the measurement.

Too much toe out will cause severe steering especially at high speeds. I suspect that if you put weight on the fromt, you will find that as the suspension collapses the toe changes to toe in.
