I drove to Chitina today to see how much damage was done to the Liberty Falls camp ground by the floods last summer and to let the kids fish in the town lake.
Before heading back, I stopped to gas up. I couldn’t help noticing that the price in Chitina was $3.12 per gallon. When I got back to Valdez, I checked the price in town and found it to be $3.49 per gallon.
I guess it must cost nearly $4,000.00 to haul 10,000 gallons of gas an extra hundred miles…
Anybody that can share the trip, I think it would be well worth it.
(By the way the Liberty Falls camp ground is pretty well destroyed and the kids only caught one fish.)
