      Great pics. Even with the heads up I managed to get crappy pics. Im thinking its time to upgrade!

        I am with you. I took some pics of the northern lights last week at the lake and they all turned out ...... worthless.
        I don't mean to sound bitter, cold, or cruel, but I am, so that's how it comes out.

              Nice shots there tull777. I too thought the supermoon was on Friday night, so stayed up late shooting moon pics. Then later on I found out it was going to occur on Saturday night, so I stayed up late again. About the time the moon rose a covering of clouds blew in, ruining the opportunity. Here's one shot I did on Friday eve:

              "I love my country...it's the government I'm scared of"

                It took me awhile to get it right. Read as much as you can on photographing the lights and keep trying.
