  • I Got Mauled Today!

OK, it wasn't a bear ...but I did get attacked by a Spruce Grouse today! He was a mean one too.

Pretty funny, he chased off a couple lady joggers who were just passing through, he attacked my shoes, slap my legs around a bit and landed on my head a couple times. My wife got a pretty good kick out of it!

Should have made Stir Fry outta the little bugger!

HA! Worse than my grandma's little Chihuahua named Chico, straddling the Pastor's leg.

I must have been around 6-years old. An image I will never forget!

Amen to that, 2PawsRiver! We have been together now for over 30-years. Dated through high school and married right after graduation. I always said that I ended up with the best one of the bunch. She had four other sisters and I grabbed the oldest and smartest.

lOl THEY sure are funny little birds this time of year. I had a cock bird outside the window in full strut the other day.. JUST out side the reach of the Griff...even in his rut crazed mind he knew to leave that dog alone ....however we do get them charging the truck in the drive way.

Yeah, that is very cool. Is that out by Kincaid? I've been hearing about a couple crazy grouse cocks out there lately. They are territorial this time of year trying to collect females. He would have been even more aggressive if you had been wearing something bright red. He be lucky if a goshawk or owl doesn't get him soon. Thanks for the share.

I actually picked him a couple times. When I would put him back down on the ground he would flutter a bit and go back to strutting.

Yes, Kincaid Park. If he doesn't watch it he's gonna get run over.

                            Those are some amazing photos

Birds must like you, since you often can get very close to them.

There was a time when I would have rung his neck and cooked him over an open fire. This was just one of those funny experiences. Next time ...salt and pepper!
