Didn't know if anyone had seen this. Sounds kind of interesting.

I enjoyed it. Jeff's slide show was good, but that was to be expected. The rest of it was an educational soft sell for Canon cameras. I got to fondle a bunch of stuff I can't afford. That's always fun.

Yes, it did hold my attention through to the end. I was a bit surprised in how the Canon reps couldn't answer some of the questions. I did not know the answers but it seems that they should have been able to. The Iditarod slide show was really good. Gave me some ideas on how to possibly shoot better sled dog race photos.

Man, that new 5D MKII is Crazy-Amazing! You can shoot video with it. They showed a video that someone had put together at night, at times shooting at 25,000 ISO ...Stunning!!!

At least I think it was shot at the maximum ISO 24,000.

            Check it out ...

The youtube version is not as sharp as the one showed at the class, still, I think you will get the idea.

The version of that video shown at the the class/show was a lot sharper of course, but even on low rez UTube you can see the extreme shallow DOF that just cannot be done (as radically) with other video cameras. I'm not sure most non-photographers would even notice this was done with a special camera, but the effect is stunning.

The Canon rep said, "The world, as we know it, has changed." A bit over the top, but I do like it. I think I'll wait for it on the 60D. Might be out late this year, who knows? The shallow DOF effect will be lessened with the shorter lenses used on a crop camera, but $2500...
