Spotting Scope Tripod

I have an older Swarovski 80mm STS and have used my Velbon Ultra Luxi F (from doug at cameraland) as a tripod for it a few times. It easily handles the weight of the larger scope and the tripod itself is a shade under 3 lbs which isnt too heavy despite being able to handle the weight of your heavier scope.

Any recommendations for a tripod? I'll be using a Swarovski ATS HD 80. After spending over 2 grand for the spotting scope, I don't particularly want to spend $500 on a tripod. Any recommendations for a quality, sturdy tripod, that is fairly light, yet not crazy expensive.
