  • Variable vs fixed power eyepiece for spotting scope

I recently ordered a fixed 20X eyepiece for my Zeiss 65mm spotting scope. I got the scope with the "standard" 15- 45X variable eyepiece.

It will be some time before I really get to use the 20X eyepiece and I'm wondering if it was really worth the $235 I paid for the fixed power eyepiece?

Does anyone with experience using both eyepieces care to share your experiences and opinions? I assumed there are some advantages to using the fixed power eyepiece other than cost.

    THANKS!
