Where is a good place to buy gold nuggets?

Jewelry shops I suppose, but why not cut out the middle man and buy direct from the miners themselves. Ive seen a few sales go down here http://www.akmining.com/forums/forum...specting-Forum. Good Luck.

I was hoping there might be a miner on here that wanted to sell.

You might try Joe's mining supply in Kenai. He runs it out of his laundromat in north Kenai. He is a miner and also buys and sells gold.
He is also state director for the GPAA.
          Joe Demaree is his name.
I will try and find his number later and post it if you want.

They usually have nuggets available at Oxford Assaying off Arctic in Anchorage.
It ain't about the # of pounds of meat we bring back, nor about how much we spent to go do it. Its about seeing what no one else sees.

I agree: cut out the middle man, and save a some $$$. I also agree about the link to Akmining...lots of miners on there that would be willing to sell direct. Just do a post with topic like "Wanted: Gold Nuggets"....you'll get results.

Iíve never understood why people think miners would sell gold cheaper than a store. Would you sell your car cheaper because your not car sale man? If you want cheep gold from a miner plan on buying $30,000 to $100,000 at a time.

That logic doesn't necessarily hold up: some miners WILL sell gold cheaper than a store, and some will not. Prices vary to a wide extreme, depending on the individual miner, and how badly they need money.
Consider this: where do you suppose stores buy their gold nuggets from? And, once they buy their gold from miners, are they going to turn around and sell for the same price they paid? No, they are not. They are going to tack on a healthy profit margin. (like 30% to 100%)
Not just an opinion, I'm speaking from experience...I am a miner! (I have sold gold cheap in the past....because I was flat-broke!) (and know of others that have done so also) Just don't expect all miners to sell below spot gold price, some will, some won't. Some won't sell at all, for any price....they want to keep ALL the gold they've found. Others are at the opposite extreme...have sold ALL the gold they had...
