  • selling large nuggets

any one know if a larger nugget (4-6 oz.)would have a larger value than the going spot price? I know it all depends on the purity of the gold, but on average, what would a guy expect?

you can often get better then the current on select nuggets from Jewelers or private buyers. we always save our best ones for jewelry

I cant comment on exactly how much more, but common sense says that nuggets, of any size, should fetch more than the actual amount of gold in it since nuggets are more uncommon than the same amount of fine gold. There would be other factors in play and since you would most likely be selling to a private party then you may not get what its worth, as in less demand so lower price, economy, etc. Again, jewelry would probably get you top dollar.

You can usually get about 10% above spot price for large nuggets. Sometimes the character or the location of origin can make the price higher.
It ain't about the # of pounds of meat we bring back, nor about how much we spent to go do it. Its about seeing what no one else sees.
