Is there a place in Anchorage to buy a couple of decent pans and a book on how to do it. Trying to think of some family fun for the summer. Dont want to spend a lot of $$$ just want to have the experience of doing it with my kids.....after a few lucky flakes they will probably lose interest anyway. Any advice on a pan would be appreciated. There are 6 of us and they probably wont want to take turns so I guess I'll need 6 pans. Thanks

if you look at the Garrett Starter kit there I think its still around 30 bucks..
it gives you a 10" pan, a 14" Pan a 1/2 inch classifier, some crappy tweezers and a vial with a snuffer bottle.. its a great starter set and pretty reasonably priced it even has a instruction booklet I believe to teach ya how to pan.
