  • Scarpa Mont Blanc's....

So i just purchased a pair of scarpa mont blancs for sheep and goat hunting. Found them for over 50% off and figured it couldnt hurt to give them a try. Was just wondering if anyone else out there had any experience with these boots.

Are those the new red ones that they came out with like last year?

Umm not sure when they came out. They are still being sold at rei so they aren't too old. They are bright orange though, not red.

Never mind, I had a brain fart. I was thinking of some Scarpa plastics.

Yes the Omegas are red. Tried them last fall. That is my less than stellar review on Scarpa's site. I didn't see this post and just realized you had already purchased the Mont Blancs, when I answered your question on the other thread. 1/2 price is a great buy. Many miles on em yet? How do you like them? TS

Did you buy them online? Happen to have a link?

So far I like them a lot. Personally they fit my feet very well. It's a pretty stout boot but has the perfect amount of ankle flex up top. Went and got some ortho-soles and they fit awesome. Only about 5 miles on them so far. But that's about to change very soon weather pending. And sorry lujon, got them at the rei attic

Fit is critical, I've found if boots feel good initially they will only become more comfortable with break-in. I really like the Ortho-soles and the way you can customize the insoles to your feet. TS

Ortho-soles are the only way to go. they completely change any boot, in my opinion, for the better. Anyone who doesnt have them should go check em out at barneys.

Those Orthosole's look pretty slick! I will have to give them a shot in my Kennetreks before making the final decision on if I am going to keep them or not. I hope that the Orthosole's take up some of the volume so that I can actually keep the boots tight when wet. Currently they stretch enough after a day of hard hiking in wet mountain country that I run out of room to get them tight.

This Gear thread has been bad for me. I picked up a pair of the orthosoles too. Just gearing up for sheep and goat.
