  • Kenai trout guide recommendations

I have a couple family members coming up to fish the first week of August. I want to take them on a guided trout trip on the Kenai and was hoping to get some suggestions as to who to go with. They don't have to be the cheapest. I'm more interested in quality of service. Also shoot me a PM if there's anyone to keep away from.

    Thanks

Can't go wrong with Alaska Troutfitters in Cooper Landing.
They do upper, canyon and middle trips.

Yes. Sorry, I should have been more specific.

I would not recommend Jason's Guide Service. He is a piece of work this guy. He tried running us out of our spot last year when I was trying to show my dad how to fish. He was even talking **** to my father when I was up stream. He had his clients keep all the fire engine reds they caught just so he could row down stream as fast as he could so he could take his late group out and do it again...

I fished late August last year with Alaska Drift Away Fishing and we caught a bunch of monster Rainbows. We caught many fish in the 22-26" range and a couple 27-29"ers. Our guide was a great guy and the fishing was phenomenal.

I will try troutfitters this summer. Would fall be a better date for rainbows?

I've gone (2x's) in early September, floating from Sportsman's to Jim's. With 4 people fishing, I estimate that total boat catch was around 100-150 rainbows & dollies. Earlier or later could be better - its "fishing".

September is prime time for bows and dollies.
