  • Craig Alaska Fishing Charters

Long time member and contributor here, new to the charter operator forum. Owner/Operator of Alaska Wide Open Charters out of Craig, Alaska. 15 years guiding experience, year round resident of Craig, and year round fisherman.

As many have heard or read on this forum, there is some amazing fishing out of Craig, Alaska on Prince of Wales Island. Alaska Wide Open Charters is offering fishing/lodging packages out of Craig and is running May-Sept. Our boat is a 25ft Almar Sounder with twin 150 outboards.

Craig is the gateway to the Noyes Island area, which is one of the most sought after fishing destinations in Alaska. The majority of salmon fishing around Noyes is done by mooching which is hands on fishing. Giant kings frequent the Noyes area too, with many over 40lbs caught every year with a handful over 60. Halibut, coho, lingcod, and yelloweye is also excellent.

Check out my website at www.alaskawideopen.com, give me a call at 907-965-0130, or send me a message on this site. I will be providing fishing updates periodically throughout the season on this site as well as on my webpage. Ask about the discount for supporting members of the Alaska Outdoors Directory.

Had a cancellation for the last week of May. I can't stand being at the dock when I can be fishing so give me a call and I'll give a good discount. 2-4 anglers.

Booking groups and getting deposits for 2019. Still some of the most sought after dates available for 2019.

Wrapped up my June charters before I went commercial fishing. 100% limits for my guests on 24 charters in June on king salmon. Read about June here: https://www.alaskawideopen.com/singl...-Fishing-Recap

Have some dates available for 2019. Going to be a low abundance king year again, so buyer beware, and make sure you book a guide who is an actual fisherman, not someone working a summer job who follows the crowd or has to beg info on a daily basis.

Coho craziness is upon us. And they are huge. Looks like we should have solid fishing until the end of the month for coho. I still have dates for 2019 available, but they are going fast. Don't linger too long if you have specific dates in mind.

I have two dates in June, and three dates in August open for 2019. My gut feeling is that 2019 is going to be a good one.

We are currently fully booked for 2019 from May 28-Aug 15th. If you would like some early season King/Halibut/Lingcod/Yellow Eye/Black Bass action in May, give me a call at 907-965-0130. I'm willing to give special pricing in May to get off the dock.

2020 is coming quickly too. If interested, let me know and I will see where I have openings after everyone gets done rebooking after this summer.
