I just acquired a Marlin 1895 SBL and am thinking of putting a scout scope on it (low Leupold QRW rings). I handled one with a scout scope and really liked the broad peripheral vision and great eye relief (esp with the recoil). Normally I'm skeptical of the scout scope but I think on the lever gun with quick-release rings it may work pretty well. If it doesn't work out, I've got a Charger I can toss the scope onto so it will go to good use!
There seem to be three good choices:
The Leupold looks like a hands down winner (great warranty, best FOV, leupold quality, etc). However, it looks like you cannot adjust the ocular lens. I wear glasses so I am a bit concerned about not being able to adjust that; I've had to tweak a few other scopes. I didn't have trouble when using one in a store, but...
I was wondering if anyone had any experience with these optics. I'm still leaning towards going for the Leupold but the Burris looks pretty good too.

- Leupold 2.5X IER (http://www.leupold.com/hunting-and-s...8mm-ier-scout/)
- Burris 2.75 Scout (http://www.burrisoptics.com/special1.html#2x)
- Nikon 2x EER (http://www.nikonhunting.com/products..._Nikoplex/8484 ...more of a pistol scope I think)
