  • feeding problem

I picked up a mini 30 and have a problem with it feeding from the right side of the clip. As the round starts up into the chamber the tip of the round bumps into the square machine cut priror to entering the chamber. Could a guy reach in with a dremel and bevel it gently without hurting anything

Before altering the gun, I would make sure to try some magazines that are new or for sure in good shape. Sounds to me like you may have a feed lip problem. Compare the magazine to a few others and make sure they look the same. We run into bad mags occasionally after they have been dropped, stepped on, whatever. Start there before taking the Dremel to the gun.

I agree. Try several more mags before taking on the gun, and ideally let Ruger take on the issue in order not to void your warranty. It takes very little damage to the feed lips to cause very big problems, so it may not be obvious to your eye.

        problems

If I use a hunting round in a factory mag they feed fine but as soon as I use any hi cap clip with fmj's this is where it happens. All clips are new and the same problem happens with them all. I modified a 30 rd by adding ramps to the edge like a factory clip has but the tip still hangs up and stops the action as its leaving the magizine.
