Every day it becomes more evident that if something isn't done, we will ose our Second Amendment rights and then the rest of the Constitution lies vulnerable to attack. Obama and his henchmen and women are without a doubt intent on taking away firearms ownership from private citizens. These people somehow think that by amrketing themselves to the unthinking American public to be put in public office, that they soemhow have the right to alter the basic fabric of a free American society to suit their odeologies. They are wrong. Surely there is still a real America here, enough so, that this steamroller that is coming down "main Street" can be stopped before it reaches our Bill of Rights. Our basic freedoms are in dire jeopardy right now. Tomorrow will be the first active day of his Presidency. He and his cronies will try to distract us from the important proctections of our freedoms, like the Second Amendment, by keeping us so concerned over financial issues that we will not see what is happening.
The people of Great Britain and Australia, the former gun owners will readily admit that the biggest mistake was in not fighting the confiscations without everything they could muster. Things were allowed because the governement was seen as all powerful and knowing. CRAP! We are the government, and they are supposed to do our bidding.
So, the reason for the title of this thread. What are you willing to do? Are we just to write a few letters, E-mails to our representatives and when the s--t hits the fan, to say, well, we did our best? It's going to take a lot more this time.
As far as I am concerned, Eric holder, the U.S. Attorney General to be, once one of Janet Reno's henchmen, is nothing but a fascist in liberal clothing. He WILL do everything in his power to bring the new enlarged Assault Weapons Ban into existence, permanently, along with other laws that will, within a year or two at the most, destroy our ability to own, sell, load and fire in self-defense, any firearms whatsoever.
What ever has to be done, must be done. letters, phone calls, petitions, up front warnings that we will not relinquish our God-given and Constitutional rights to protection and ownership. I said: "What will you do?" because i already know what I will do, my brothers. Everything including refusal to turn in my weapons if that day ever comes. My wife knows I mean it and I hope it never comes to that, but it may well do so.
I love this country and the real Americans living here, of any race or creed. We have to go beyond what our desire for comfort allows. If this all sounds dramatic, dammit, it is!
If anyone out there has formed legal petitions to send to our reps, please PM me. I'm willing to stand somewhere and get signatures.
If you are worried about being put on a list, then good luck to you. You're not part of the solution and don't seserve to have your arms, not if you're noit willing to stand up. God Bless you all.
