  • IDPA, USPSA matches?

Does anyone know if there are IDPA or USPSA matches close to Anchorage? If so, when and where do they take place? I'm moving up from the midwest and would like to hook up those organizations.
    Thanks for your help.

    Snowshoe Gunclub

The closest IDPA club I know of is in Soldotna at the Snowshoe Gunclub. They run some nice matches and did a great job for the state championship match last fall. pat.rose@acsalaska.net is the POC. The IDPA web site shows a club in Anchorage, but I don't know how active they are. Living 800 miles away from Anchorage, I probably don't have the best info, however.

I believe the Matanuska Valley Sportsmen Club off the Glenn Highway in Palmer has Action Pistol matches. I'm not sure if they're IDPA or USPSA affiliated. Their number is (907)746-4862 if you want to check into it.

That's correct. I believe Mat Valley offers indoor IDPA also.

I'm moving to Wasilla around Feb 08. I've been active with the NWPPA/IDPA in Washington for a number of years. I've been digging around a bit trying to find out what is available for IDPA in Alaska and found this thread. I read somewhere that the Palmer range is used in winter and some outdoor range near Anchorage is used in summer. True?
