  • Redhawk 44 Mods.

Ive got an older Redhawk 44 mag. 7 1/2" barrell, 16 years old and would like to upgrade the factory sites, and get the trigger worked to a 3lb pull at SA...dont want to mess with the DA side of it. What options are out there for this? I am also looking for someone who does engraving to personalize it for me. Custom making some grips out of moose antler at the moment. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Would you trade another set of moose grips for some new sights and a trigger job?
Is there nothing so sacred on this earth that you aren't willing to kill or die for?

        moose grips

When I finish with the grips I will post a pic of the completed iron. The base will be left natural and the top portion will be a scimshawed Haida Alaskan Native eagle design (like the ones you see painted on drums). I would possibly be willing to custom grip side arms for folks....its pretty time consuming....this was my winter "cabin project". I will post a new thread when Im done and if you like what you see you can pm me contact info. Untill then

I put the XS Express sights on my 5 inch Redhawk and like them very much. I don't use the gun for target shooting, but these sights are easier to line up than the factory square ones.

You can order the XS Express sights along with many other types of sights from Midway USA.

Does anyone know where I can can get target/long range sights for the Super Redhawk? The factory open sights don't do much for me past about 50 yards. I'm looking for something that I can be accurate with at 75-100 yds but don't want to go to a scope yet.

            Thanks,
            Mike

              Try the IBOK first

              Akjaq,

Are you contemplating doing the work yourself? (It is not particularly hard.) If you have not gotten a copy, get hold of an IBOK (Iowegan Book of Knowledge). It (they) are pretty good manuals of how to properly "own" most of the Ruger handguns out there, particularly revolvers.

              Good luck.
