Anchorage was all wilderness............before the Railroad tent camp was built about 1915/1916. When we ponder resources that is worth reflecting on. It was all wall to wall wilderness.

Here in Alaska we argue about who is taking fish out of the river before someone else gets a chance to, farther upstream in Canada.

Down there they get a lot more serious. They took the water right out of the river leaving no H2O to run downstream into Mexico. The Mexicans would have been ecstatic if all the Americans did was to remove all the fish...

          Hmmmm, "wilderness":

          wil·der·ness

          /ˈwildərnis/

          noun: wilderness; plural noun: wildernesses

          1. an uncultivated, uninhabited, and inhospitable region.

Yes, and for what? Bright lights and entertainment? I've always felt that robbing the Colorado's water for people's pools and yards was a crime, and unfortunately, an undoable crime. I refuse to visit those places.

Jives FINE for me.........But then I clearly remember when Eagle River, Spenard, Mouldoon, Hillside, South Anchorage was NOT part of Anchorage. They all had their own government and mayors. Original Anchorage had an airport (Now Called the Park Strip).
