Way past time to dial the hatcheries way back. How much more evidence do we need? https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-020-17726-z

        • I remember back about 2005 i was down at the cleaning tables and I caught a guy about to fillet a silver. I asked him if he had a derby ticket and he said; Yes. So I told him to go weight the fish. 22 lbs. There were days that if you went down to the harbor you might find a fish in your boat and they jumped on the dock. In the past few years, 16lbs. is a great contender for the derby winner.

Somewhere also around this time I remember a pink run that was so huge that the whole town stunk. Fish were spawning in wet ditches and were everywhere. Somewhere around 14-16(?) million fish returned. This year he hatchery "expects" to get its brood stock.

This year for some reason Kings seem to be on the rise.

Down at the harbor seiners are already in dry dock for the winter. The fleet of tenders are gone. Cornelia Marie, Wizard, Northern Endurance.... all gone. North Western did not show up this summer for some reason.

Something has changed for sure. I'd love to see 22 lb. silvers again.

That would be something for sure! Friend of mine caught a 14 and 12 lb'ers the other day out of the Kenai.

Sheep hunting...... the pain goes away, but the stupidity remains...!!!
