Low on Tuesday was around 32 F and on Wednesday it was 25 F. Highs have been between 45-50 for the past three days. It rained all day Monday, and there was a slight dusting of snow on Tuesday.

Snow Depth At Landing Parking Lot:

4.5 inches of new snow at 9 am Thursday morning. Snow is continuing to fall. Visibility is maybe 100 yards.

    Trail Conditions:

4/6 There are a few holes and water starting to show. Last Thursday morning an ice shelf dropped out on the Susitna River about a mile north of the Deshka. You can't see it heading south, so when you are traveling through the mogul area you will not see it until you are already heading down into it when it is too late. Be aware and travel cautiously. There is some rotting ice out there that will drop out when you drive over it. All freighters are done for the winter. If guys are hauling anything out they should be using a tub sled with light contents. Going off of what's left of the hardpack may mean some digging will be involved to get back onto more solid ground. Conditions are very sloppy in the afternoons. The main parking lot is getting to the point of no return, so don't drive through the lot. Park near the building. We have already had to pull trucks out of the lot because they eventually buried themselves too deep with a trailer.

9.5" of new snow at 11:50 am. That's 5" in the past 3 hours! Coming down worse now. Plow truck is overwhelmed so Roger is getting some windshield time in the Loader just trying to clean up the road! Good thing most of the pass holders and members retrieved their trailers out of here before today! TB it's time to get back out on those swamps and get them in shape for the weekend!!!

        Be careful on the rivers.

        It's getting deep!!!!
All this new snow will hide all the bad things.
Note: The markers going over on the Deshka River X-over have been pulled for the season.
Watch for breaking ice shelfs and open water!
