  • Culvert sleds.

Has anyone used one, built one? Pics would be awesome.

    Thanks in advance,
I don't mean to sound bitter, cold, or cruel, but I am, so that's how it comes out.

I've built several, and hauled them many thousands of miles, literally. I still have two. One is a true culvert from the Palmer culvert maker. One is aluminum with 4 p-tex runners. They both sit in the yard because my ski sleds are so superior there's little reason to use the culverts. The only reason is to break trail, which for me means cutting firewood. I'll never haul freight in a culvert again.

    No pics, sorry.

They work fine, they had two strong points. They were cheap to build, in fact they were nearly free, but they are not cheap any more. There is a used one on Craigslist for $600.00 now, and by the time you buy the custom rolled culvert, and the lumber, and build or have someone build the tongue and hitch, that is a fair price.

The other advantage is you can build them any length, 20 feet long if you want.
