  • Frozen carburator piston valves

After riding though a lot of powder on a 2008 Skidoo Backcountry 550F, the piston valves froze up overnight. The air intake is exposed on the left side. Has anyone used a fine mesh filter over the existing one..and if so, any problems or advice?

SLP (Starting line Products) sells a very fine filter material for filtering out snow dust...... http://www.slp.cc/catalog.cfm?pageID...&productID=292

In Anchorage/MatSu area try Go Pro he has some on hand occasionally.

I have it on my Twin Spar Cat which was just hating the dry snow conditions we are having this year. I used a hot glue gun to hold it in place. The stuff works. Alot of the "M" Cats have their whole left side cut out and this material installed to help keep the clutches cool without issues. TBlooma has it over the stock filter on his Summit I believe.

Thanks for the information. I would have saved a little grief by having it.
