sportsman vs horton? with wingx

We are planning to install wingX this winter on our '73 A185F. We currently have a horton leading edge with the fences. Toying with the idea of installing sportsman at the same time, but trying to understand what that will gain us. I'm more concerned with performance on floats that wheels as that's where I fly it the most.

Have you flown both? Is the upgrade worth the cost? Why?

I am by no means an expert, but I have flown 19 different 185s over my career with the feds. There has been all sorts of combinations of stol kits on them. For whatever its worth they are all about the same, with one exception. We had two aircraft that had Robertson kits, Sportmans cuff, VGs, and the Wing X mod. These two planes flew scary slow. I always had to relearn how to fly them. They both would get off the water quicker and I could land them shorter. But like I mentioned, they can get real slow on landing.
