Hi Everyone
Cindy asked me to post an update on the Skwentna fly-in this weekend. The goal is to keep this a FUN AND SAFE event!!! With that in mind, plane parking is aways an issue due to limited space. If you plan on camping or staying for the party, plan on using the ramp; early arrivals try to get the planes close together to save space. Friday night you will be on your own, Saturday morning there will be a parking attendant with radio on 122.9 who will help marshal the traffic and move competitors to appropriate parking at that time. No parking on either side of the runway near the landing area!! Competitors should all park on the west end of the runway past the cones and signs. All others should plan to park on the ramp and once that is full, the parking attendant will direct you to parking on the east end of the ramp North and South side. The goal is to have several hundred feet clear of planes near the touchdown area so pilots have an exit route in case of issues. On that note, competitors should move as far as possible down the runway once landed to clear the north side for the next pilot. Depending on number of planes arriving, some changes may be made so keep up on the radio.

All spectators and foot traffic should be done on the south side of the runway. If possible arrive early to help facilitate parking. As usual camping can be under the wing. If you want to camp in the roadhouse yard, it will be a $25 dollar per night charge. Please keep dogs on a leash at all times. Due to insurance issues, no beer will be sold on the runway this year (just water/soda) however the bar at the lodge will be open. If you want to have tacos at the lodge Saturday night, let Cindy know ahead of time so she can get supplies in order.

Also looking for line judges to help spot record distance, let Cindy know if you are available.

Hope to see you all there have fun and be safe!
