  • Float Plane Migration

Sense I have been back in Alaska for a few days, I figured it is time to post some photos of my trip with Adventure Seaplanes and the annual seaplane migration from their summer base near Minneapolis, MN to Lake Pierce, FL. After earning my PPL finally in late June I figured it was a great opportunity to earn a seaplane rating and build some time. Man was I right, a different type of flying, a great group of people and new sight to be seen on every leg of the trip, it was just the icing on the cake. Great float flying for the last few days of October and into November too, even if I brought the cold weather with me the whole trip! Hope you all enjoy.

Congrats! Looks like an awesome trip!!!! Amphibs on a 172? What's your useful load with full fuel?

Thanks! but no, that was a 182 on Amphibs. The 172 was on straight floats. I never actually did fly the 182, just the 172 and 185 (not pictured).
