"hope" that you will get some?
The only thing worse than a Subaru is the as*hole who drives it.

I don't think there are many tRails available to us in the Hope area, as most of the surrounding area is Chugach National Forest. Somewhere on the USFS website they have a map which shows the areas where ATVing is allowed, and if memory serves me correctly, around Hope it's only on a few miles of mining roads. In general, very little of the Kenai peninsula is open to us.

Best of luck in your quest for tail, however!

            Hoping for Tail

Sorry - you're getting beat up for a single letter.

Anyway -- here's a link to the Chugach Forest, Northern Kenai Pen.

            http://www.fs.fed.us/r10/chugach/rec...cnf_nrthrn.pdf

You will find there is VERY little authorized ATV riding around Hope.
You might see a local on a wheeler... but, one could argue they are using it for more 'functional' reasons.

The Palmer Creek road is specifically closed to ATVs

The Resurrection Trail is closed to ATVs
There is a power-line that runs along the Hope Highway; but that is closed, not only is it on Forest property; plus the power company (albeit not marked) considers riding the power lines as trespassing.

In short -- Keep heading towards Sterling, or head North.

If you find a trail, that's legal - let us know!

And if wasn't a typo -- most of the tail in Hope is probably accounted for (grin).

Actually the title was misspelled as well as the 'tail' in the body message. TIS FAIR GAME for exploitation.. kkthx

Back to the OP.. as mentioned it is a rough area to take an ATV. The law and locals will most certainly show you the stink eye.

(the bird creek trail is the closest legal trail I can think of)

BTW.. who publishes the atv trail map?? Seen it in the Paxson station but can't recall.. Might help the OP.

Sorry for the sarcasm but.. naw..nvm, I'm not sorry

My wife was looking over my shoulder and asked, "honey I don't know if you should be on a site like this"

I had to explain the typo and that she's my one and only.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming-----WOW-----what a ride!

                  In hope that what?

The mining trails are nice for a sunday drive in your suv or subaru. Very pretty up there but the roads are short and pretty passable in a shorter wheelbase (no motorhome).
There will be some snow likely at this time (late May).
