  • Where to ride?

Hey, I have been in this area for about 14 years but just recently got 4-wheelers and am not sure where to ride. We have gone on some short rides up Baldy and Jim Creek but are interested in widening our horizons. We would like to take off for 3-4 days next week and do some camping and fishing on our machines. Can anyone give me some ideas for trails and how to get to the trailheads? We would love to go to the Denali Highway.
    Thanks for the help.

Log on to http://arctictrails.net/ for a list of trails. All of the trails listed have directions to the trailhead and most are rated and have a description.

Eureka is definitly worth riding, lots and lots of trails and fun stuff like mud, water and critters.

There is a faster way off the mountain, might hurt a little though.

The Denali Highway is fantastic but you need to go 50 miles in before the really good trails. Right at the Susitna Bridge is the Butte Creek trail and it leads to MILES of good ATV'ing and fishing. I will be there tomorrow

            Thanks

Just wanted to let you know I went to Eureka last weekend and had an awesome time. The trails were great and I think we found a trail for every terrain craving. LOL Thanks to everyone for the tips.

The new Knik River Public Use Area (formerly known as Jim Creek) is the standby ride. Dusty and high water (like right now) can put a crimp in the ride but there is a LOT of area there. The ATV Club is doing a ride this Sunday there (10AM at the Pavilion parking area <by the Raceway>). If you haven't done a lot of riding there we might be able to show you something.

                  Thanks

Thanks for the invite but my machine is unfortunatly in the shop, I finally hit the 100 mile mark on it and it's getting stuff done.
I would love to ride with you guys sometime though.

We'll do Knik again on the 19th, 10 AM, same place.
Doing Boulder this Saturday, a ride, little fossil pickin', should be fun.
