Got a friend that has a 2011 Polaris ranger a year ago and we just got back from a week long trip. No complaints on performance, but the width of side by sides had real limitations. Anyway, the speedometer quit working on the trip. It this a known problem? Is it most likely just the sensor or does the head usually have to be replaced? Anything else that needs closer inspection? Thanks for any advice.
He also purchased a 2010 Polaris 600 4 wheeler a couple of months ago. He has found that even after a short ride, there is a lot of heat down by his feet where the power belt is located. Is this normal? Is there any specific issue that he should be aware of?
These are new brands for him. He has two 22 year old 4 wheelers that are still running, so he knows how to take care of them. He had an Argo for years, so ditto on knowing how to do repairs
Any basic recommendations for routine things to watch for, things that easily break, stuff you always carry into the field (if something routinely breaks), etc. are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
