Well, I have for the last 3 years had problem with my left knee. I originally overextended my knee on a decline and it has never healed up right. In the late winter and spring, it is the worse from heavy boots and uneven, icy terrain. The summer it generally is not too bad but then it comes around again like clockwork in the winter. My chiropractor said I should use an exercise bike, which that is on order, and to keep exercising it. The knee hates hills and stairs. I am only 36 too! My condo is all stairs... Anyone out there with knee problems? How do you deal with yours? This is getting old quick. Thanks!

I have had two 'repair' surgeries on my right knee after a work related accident 20 years ago. Neither surgery did alot of good. Next surgical step is replacement if I want to go that route.
About 3+ years ago my ortho specialist told me about a medication called EUFLEXXA that is injected into the joint- takes three injections one week apart. It is a synthetic lubricant. He said it usually lasts for atleast 6 months. Has worked wonders for me. Have had two rounds with a third coming up in about 2-3 months (not scheduled yet, but I can feel the need lately). Not the most comfortable procedure, but can be done in the office. I generally felt relief in about 2-3 days.
Ofcourse any remedy / solution is going to require a trip to a ortho specialist. Better to get it done before summer gets here.

I like www.mayoclinic.com for health information. WebMD is good too.
Seems like it would depend on what's wrong. The knee is somewhat a mechanical structure and the solution would depend on some proper investigative work. Some problems are minor (in the long run) some get worse, some fixes are easy, some not so much, I guess. I use the mayo website often.
Best of luck, whatever you decide.
