Onions coming up. Planted all the bigger onion bulbs 2 weeks ago.
    Will be my winter onions.

Planted the smaller bulbs today, new compost mixed in the top 4" the added compost to fill the bed.
I plant these deeper, we like the longer white bottoms for salad onions.

Got all my garden planted as of last weekend (10/11) except for an occasional lettuce start to add to the mess.
Onions and garlic are up and looking great. Turnips are all up, peas are sprouting, Brassicas are a little wind whipped but still looking good. Tomatoes and cukes in GH are looking good (except for a couple tomatoes that got a late start) found some D*** red spider mites on one of my cukes.. They seem to find me every 2 years.. Hopefully I got them stopped.

      60 soil temps
Garden finally showing good signs of growing.
The soil temp are all above 55 now.
      Most are around 60,
Beans were the last to poke thru, they need 55 & above. That's why planting them
early is difficult with the cold 40 & lower night time temps.
Amazing the turn around in the plants in the past week.
Of course the GH is doing better too, the cold nights effected it too.

I'm really jealous of your cuc's... I finally found a blossom on each of my cuc's this morning...
My squash aren't doing too good either... everything else is starting to look good.

                Everything looking good today.
Got a few cut worms mowing down the little beets & some peas. Found some of them today.

The squash (zucs) were just sitting there but now I'm see new plant growth.
& they got cold, sun burned, wind burned but
a little warmer nights & are looking OK now.

Were so bad I started new seeds, need some zucs ?
I got 3 black beauty & 8 of the round ones in pots in the GH.

                  Mudbuddy,

I am curious if you started those zucchinis inside and transplanted them or if you started them from seeds directly in the ground. Thanks.

those solar panel raised beds on the onions look like a pretty slick deal. Do you have the dimenions mudbuddy? And any more pics of it? I might make them on a couple rows for next year.

I have jalapenos coming and bell peppers finally coming as well in the raised bed hoop house. Cucs are flowering (first year with them). Tried doing strawberries this year as well, not sure what to think yet. Did the plastic on the rows as well as plastic hoops. . Trying some corn as well through plastic, we'll see. Maters, garlic, taters, beans, and onions are all doing good. Green onions are alive but really doing nothing or so it appears. Carrots are coming on good as well. And the broccoli is doing what it does.

Now if we only didn't need an arch to be out weeding ha!

No I just used some left over GH plastic & near a 30 angle to get the sun.
If I made another one I'd orient it E-W & just have the glass on the South side.
Being clear , they do thaw first in the spring &
increase the soil temp a few degrees higher than the wooded soil beds.

Thanks for the tip....much nicer than running plastic.

Had a moose and her calf mow down my broccoli last night. Time to get out the ghille and teach them a lesson LOL!

My fence, sometimes, keeps them out.
1st cutting of broccoli should be ready soon:
