  • Bass Pro Shop to open soon

I have heard they will open in early July. I am surprised not a lot of noise about their opening like there was with Cabelas. I like Bass Pro, and not just the name. Thay have lots of guns and hunting supplies as well as fishing. I'm hoping they cover some bases that Cabelas left out with their new store, such as boats and ATV's. I do believe that their prices are a tad bit lower then Cabelas. Have not heard a word about any big grand opening introduction like Cabelas did. Bud

I am sure it will be a multi-day event with invitations and all that just like Cabela's.

I know Bass Pro will have boats. They are going to be a dealer for Thunder Jet boats. I think having both stores open will really benefit us since they each seem to specialize in different areas. I just hope all there fishing gear doesn't have there name plastered all over it like Cabelas.

Yup. Grass Lake Ron is correct. The vast majority of rods will be BPS rods. But why is that a problem? I have a BPS rod from the 80's I still use.

I was hoping they'd open early since I'll be in town from the 5th-7th. Oh well. I'll just stick to their website.

ALASKA is a "HARD COUNTRY for OLDMEN". (But if you live it wide'ass open, it is a delightful place to finally just sit-back and savor those memories while sipping Tequila).

Just tell them that you are THE Alaska Swamp Man prostaffer. I'm sure that will immediately get you in front of the line and get first choice of any gear you want. Heck, I bet they won't even charge you!
