  • Alaska Beetle Farm

Just want to throw this out there for anyone that doesn't know about it. We have a new skull cleaning outfit here in Anchorage. I had Max at the Alaska Beetle Farm clean up my caribou skull from last fall and it turned out great. He is a super nice guy and he'll spend time explaining how everything works if you're interested. A buddy helped me mount it on some wood and it looks great on the wall. This turned out ten times better than my "homemade" deer skull. I'll probably never do it myself again after seeing the results. Look them up after your hunts this fall!

Before taking any of my advice for granted on here research the legal ramifications thoroughly I am not the Troopers nor am I the Judge that will be presiding over your case/hearing. Please read the hunting and sportfishing regulations and feel free to interpret their meaning on your own.

Alaska Beetle Farm is first rate, I highly recommend them. They have done 3 projects for me now.

Out of curiosity, were they done in a timely fashion? Mine took significantly longer than originally told, but I didn't really mind because I knew he was just getting started and already playing catch up. But I've been told by a couple others that their stuff took forever, too. Hopefully just growing pains because I love the guy's work.

Anyone know if this place is still up and running? I dropped off a moose last fall; reached out about a week ago and no reply. I don't like to pester guys on things that take a while, but I don't see any recent posts or media....

I dropped off several skulls at the Alaska beetle farm almost 2 years ago. I kept getting the “the bear still is a little greasy, call back in a month” and now I can’t get ahold of him at all. I have been trying for about 4 months.
                  Anyone else having this problem?

Yup, dropped off a skull august of last year he said 2-3 months, 6 months goes by and he claims he had a big beetle die so he was behind. Finally got my skull back this September. Yea he told me the greasy line too about 11 months in, go to his house and talk to him since he is incapable of answering emails and phone calls. Good luck
