  • History of the trappers

    Hi,

Can anybody help me find some good books about the old days trappers and pioneers in Alaska and Yukon. There are lots of stories and biographies about the mountainmen of the Rockies but I canīt find anything from the North land.

          check out....

North of the Sun by Fred Hatfield

Talks some about trapping and living in the Dillingham area in the 1930-40s. Not all about trapping, but a great memoir and account of what it was like back then. I especially enjoyed it because I've been to some of the same areas outside of Dillingham that the author traveled over and wrote about. A great read.
