  • Henry US Survival AR-7 for small game?

Anyone pack one for smaller critters? http://www.ericnestor.com/survival-r...al-ar-7-rifle/

I hear the new ones are pretty good but used ones going back 15+ years can be hit and miss

I’ve got one I bought about 40 years ago. It’s a piece of junk.

I have one that i have no idea how old it is, but it’s a fun tack driver that’s dropped a lot of grouse.

Yes, the new Henry’s are cool little packages. I have even fitted mine with a small scope in QD rings and the whole package fits in a very small pack.

If the new ones are like the old ones, you will need to replace the plastic recoil springs guide. I made one out of steel. If you use it much, it will break. Not good for a so called “survival gun”.

I saw a Savage 42 recently, .22 over .410 shotgun. Looked like a slick concept but sorta junky too.

                Model # 42 or 24?

24 is the old one. They sold for like $15 new and now they’re like $700 for one[emoji15]. There were several different cartridge combinations. The new one is the 42. Black, plastic, and ugly.
