Looking for a hunt transporter out of Valdez. Does anyone have any rommendations? A friend and I here in Iraq are looking to do goat or blackie hunt next fall before we have to move along. Just need to be dropped off, and picked up about a week later. Some names, phone numbers, or email adresses would be great. Thank you for your time and good luck in the woods, the hunting here in has slowed considerably!!.

I've used him twice in filming two episodes for TV...one hunting one fishing...he's been at it for awhile and is an honest guy. Has a transporter licenses. Tell him I sent you...its worth an extra 20% mark up I'm sure on your bill!!! Have any problems/questions let me know.

I know a few guys that have rented skiffs from http://www.fishcentral.net/boats.htm. Would be EZ to reach areas that have both bears and goats. Bears would be a higher percentage hunt than goats. The goats will be by registration hunt and can be best described as tough hunting.
Good Luck

You don't have to go very far out of Valdez for Goat or Bear...especially black bear...probably find all the bear you want just inside the narrows.
Fish Central is a clearing house for the charters and such...I met him last year at the sports show...seemed like a very nice guy.

If they close on Sep 15th, that would limit a DIY to black bear. The soonest the season opens for goat is 15 Sep. Of course with a drop hunt no boat to worry about while you hunt. But no boat to move to another area either.
This is one of fish centrals rentals, watch the tides or end up like this. Snapped this while they waited for the tide to head back to Valdez.
Good Luck
