Valdez Black Bear Updates?

Anyone got any updates on Black Bears in and around Valdez? Next weekend coming down to fish and cruise the area. Bringing rifles just in case! Has anyone seen any bears around or near the beaches?

Spring

Spring is over and it is snowing again today. New snow up high and on the side hills. It is supposed to cear a bit. Bear siteings have been slim and nothing has hit my bait stands to date. I would only look on southern slopes, which there are not a lot of.
