    Hi guys,
hey I'd like to take a run down to the Kuiu/Kake area for a blackie this May. I have a small 16' skiff (or raft) with 25hp.
I know some out there have forgotten more about this area than I will ever know. I need logistics info, ferry to Kake info, areas to consider on kuiu etc...
If someone with experience with this type of hunt could PM me I'd be much obliged. Maybe I could help out with an interior bou hunt etc...Many thanks! Frank

Yeah, but you'll be riding in a nice boat with a first class outfit!

Not from riding in their boats yet, but I see them around a lot.

This is an old post so you may know this but the Alaska Marine Highway goes to Kake pretty often if you are going DIY. For schedule info try www.akmhs.com hope that helps

you also might try calling the Petersburg Ranger District of the Tongass National Forest. They may be able to help you with travel Info to and from the island and the other info you are looking for.

                  Cost

from what i priced it is just as cheap to rent down there than to transport your boat, its alot easier and less hassle. Check the prices.
