  • Wifes Moose 2014

I called in 3 bulls first hour of the first day. She passed on the first (47"ish) then shot this one (58") minutes later..

Floated 55 river miles with a full load..

Had to fight the rain right off the bat but the meat was in awesome shape when we arrived in the village.

We got some great video of me calling him in and then her dropping him in his tracks with one shot from her .308 twelve steps from the river. It was a dream hunt and the best thing of all we are STILL married!!

Congrats on the successful husband/wife hunt! Nothing better than sharing the hunting experience with your significant other. I'm heading off with my wife on a sheep hunt in two days. My goal as well it to still be married when we return!

Excellent! After all of these hunts with your daughter, it's great to see one where it's just the two of you - wonderful to spend time afield, and yes, even better when you're still married afterwards! Nicely done!

Awesome job! I'll bet you are still tired though.

12 steps from the river...??? I certainly hope not. Sounded like a cake walk to me..........lol.

Must have been a cold hunt, I see bunny boots! Wouldn't want MY daughter to be married to a guy who took her on a hunt like that..........haha!
Way to go, Steve. Was this your usual unit 13 hunt, or someplace new? You floated to a village?
Good choice on bulls, great rack..........the moose I mean!

Naw, it was warmer this year then past years. In fact this is the first year I delt with BUGS! I had her bundled up pretty good though just in case. We really did have a dream hunt together. All the years she has let the kids or buddies go, now she was rewarded for being patient. We are hunting a any bull area in unit 19D.

Was just informed by the tax guy that the wifes bull is 61". I only did a quick measurement in the village with a wind up tape measure. Guess I did it wrong. Never said I was a carpender..

                              I thought it looked bigger.

And to your wife, congratulations on a spectacular bull. Now, is she going to let you shoot one next year, or are you the dedicated 'moose caller' of the team?
