We are lucky to have a island with low habitat for winters like 2011, then you add a mild winter in and wham! slammed with lots of deer. I counted 14 deer with binos and one was a mature buck, the others were too far to determine buck or doe. Does season open tomorrow. The spike went right to several peoples skillet that evening! none of it made it to the freezer.

Frigging deer are everywhere, multiplying like the mountain goats are. It's nice.Life's too short for an ugly boat

Taking my son 11 years old this weekend for road system deer. Our original plans fell through so this is our backup plan. It's his first hunt. My expectations weren't very high but now maybe we will at least see some deer with these reports coming in. Hunted North goats a few times over there so I know a few trails but sounds like south is usually better.
