When I went to get my minutes at Surveyors Exchange the girl there talked to me about this, Like with anything new, I'm going to let them work the bugs out of it for the first year or two, just like what happened to the new Iridium Extreme 5575 when it came out. I want something that works and I can rely on, especially being remote in the middle of nowhere.

I was wondering how long it would be before something like this came out. I expected Delorme to bring it out. For the price of the unit and price of per minute charge though I'd just buy the sat phone. I think I would like it better if it worked like the Delorme and functioned as a stand alone epirb as well. I'd be interested in hearing reports from first hand users
